This year's 1987 Homecoming week theme was Blast from the past . Many people dressed up in 1950's outfits, stoneage outfits and 1920ls attire. A lot of festive activities went on during lunch time and after school. One of our security guards, Ron Johns, Preacher , was chosen by the student body to kiss a pig. When he kissed the pig, Preacher said, It didn't feel too good. l did it because I didn't want to let the students down. In an after school parade, JROTC, Pom-Line and Flagline performed and of course we had some great floats by the cross country, ski club, cheer, black student union and the freshman class. The winning float was the 1950's by Mea- cha. Yvonne Reyes said, I am happy because of the hard work all the members put into the float. Sophomore class float came in second place which was the 1920's, gangster times. At the game, the Homecoming King and Queen were announced. The Queen was Letty Yslava and King was Jesse James. lt was a big thrill for the couple and for the crowd. After the game, the Falcons celebrated by having a dance. Ev- eryone enjoyed the dancing and had a great time. This year's Homecoming was a blast, Rockin' rollin' back to the 50's Yvonne Reyes and Maria Pineda sit down to sip their soda while listening for the results of their winning float. Flagline struts their stuff during the Homecoming parade. As gangsters Frank James and Sharon Reyes make a run from the roaring crowd, they slip away to their hide-out. Homecoming Activities 9
