Counselors Give SAT to Seniors This year Mrs. Mabel Walker, senior counse- lor, administered the California Test of Mental Maturity to senior students. She also helped stu- dents with scholarship applications and college choices. Miss Inez Franz, junior counselor, directed the PSAT and National Merit Scholarship tests for juniors. Miss Franz also advises juniors on senior subjects and requirements for the college of their choice. Team- Teaching Is Used in English For the first time this year Mrs. Carolyn Smith and Miss Martha Sneed correlated their English III and American history classes in a team- teaching effort to relate American literature with its history. Mrs. Gale Bridger and Mrs. Gayle Peterson combined their English IV classes for class discussions and projects. English IV deals mainly with English litera- ture and history; while English III instructs the student in composition and an overview of American literature. English II provides sopho- mores with the essentials of grammar, basic writ- ing skills, spelling, and vocabulary. Through these courses the student comprehends gram- mar, writing, and literature.
