Reqmem Goes to State f2J From Amarillo to Austin, Caprock's one-act play, Requiem, has gone farther than any other in the history of our school. District at Amarillo College, Area at Snyder, and Regionals at Texas Tech in Lubbock all saw Requiem taking first place honors. These proved to be the stepping stones for the cast, crew, and director which took them to the state level. There were 231 plays in AAAA to compete in the state of Texas. Requiem was one of the eight top plays traveling to the University of Texas in Austin to compete in the AAAA State UIL One-Act Play Contest. Written and directed by Mr. Jerome McDonough, Requiem is the only original play in the 51 years of UIL 4-A One-Act Play competition to advance to the state level. For a new Caprock record, Requiem is not only the first play to ever win district for our school, but also area, regionals and the first to go to state. This is also the first time any team has made it to state in any event from Caprock. As for individual honors, the play accumulated one medal for best actress, seven medals for all-star cast members, and two honorable mentions for cast members.
