Dance Production members began preparing for their annual stage show during October. Practices were held every Tuesday and Thursday night in addition to the regular second period class. During this time members assembled to choreograph and rehearse individual dance routines. Dances were then evaluated in November. Throughout the week preceding the show's debut, dress rehearsals were held. january 19, opening night, climaxed the previous months of preparation. Many types of dance provided an evening of music and entertainment. Included were forms of jazz, ballet, tap, disco, and mod- ern dance. A can-can and comedy routine were also presented. Kitris' Solo, Music and the Mirror, Live Rhythm, Disco Queen, jazz-Tap Spectacular, Night Imagination, and A Taste of Honey are samples of the themes used in choreographing the various dances. The final number was performed to the music On Broad- way. Stage Sensation, chosen as the theme for the 1979 production, had its concluding performance on the night of january 20. As a final gathering, the dancers had a lasagna luncheon at the end of the first semester.
