IT'S GVER? IT CAN'T BE! ARE YOU SURE? Those are the words that have been going through my mind for the past few days. It is such a sad feeling to see something that you struggled to make work, for the past seven months, suddenly end. I'II never forget my year as Editor-in-Chief. It opened my eyes to many aspects of human nature. As Editor, I had the task of trying to keep everything running smoothly. My staff all worked hard so I had no really major problems twell, not manyj. It was a switch not to have a certain section to work on. Instead, I had a better job, to make sure everything went in. Motivation became my number one problemp it is so hard to motivate twenty- five people who have no previous experience. With their eagerness to learn, however, this was slowly overcome. g I if g I I Shortly after school had gbegungwel we-tel uriderwlayz The first deadline of course came up so fast that we were balreIy1-heady-totitg ,,.1A two weeks before the deadline I began to, as the staff ,put it, gfflive, During the year, I found myself in fits of rages and anger that I 'II would take a few smooth days and some comforting words from myffrienidsiitoffmake- me relax and want to go back into room 403. I it l,t. I The staff soon got used to staying until 9:00 p.mf, onschool holidays, skipp- ing classes, giving up their lunch hour and even a few' Saturdays Ijust for good mea- surej. A few' phrases became well used such as, When's theipizza coming? or Who's going to get the donuts? As you can tell, annual staffers donfthave the best diet in the world. In addition, many 'other phrases became -widespread such'jas, There are no more candid shots, AlI15the 'identification stickers are gonel! , took' the Proper Cropper? , Someone stolerpyffgrease pencil, WiIl you checklrny Iigyqgt, l-, 7lferesa? , My picture is missing, YouII's,peIIed my name wrong, e I' need a Pica rigiler,ff7:3'f,li'ne'ed the.whitejo'ut, fand most used one, I need a pass back to class. Thdseare just a few ofthe better . Sfbmgl are not even printable, but, that's life tat least that's what people sayj. 'lr I I ' ' ' Halfway through thegyear,'Ilfsstarted' keeping stats for the varsity basketballteam just tothave an outlet fromfannutal, SI, soon found out that this also held a lotsof' pifessures too. It soonbecame an assetiQtHoughjp..l was able to release my aggressionsjand get can- did shots, team shots, and a' Ioti of thecopy written.
