r, A ' ll I I 'Cfzf 1. Togetherness is the key to success as senior class officers clearly demonstrate. The '79 class officers are Lisa Christen- sen, treasurer, Stacy Levy, chairman of activitiesp Kelly Berger, secretaryp and Ion Curtner, president. Whewl We finally made itl These are the thoughts running through many seniors' minds as graduation approaches. The class of '79 has good reason to be surprised at finally making it. Since their debut in 1976, the senior class has been busy and on the go! As sophomores, they astounded the school by winning Canyon's first penny drive, putting on a successful Variety show, and sponsoring an event that has since be- come CHS tradition-the Annual-Signing Dance at the end of the year. The spirited class of '79 took success one step further during their junior year. With admirable effort and enthusiasm they swept past the classes of '78 and '80 to win Spirit Week. Then, the class hosted one of the most beautiful and memorable proms Canyon has ever presented. But all of this class pride and spirit has come to a full boil this year under the direction of advisers Mr. Ray Dunne and Mr. Mark Reider and class president lon Curtner. The unofficial Toga Day during Spirit Week is one manifestation of Senior class enthusiasm. Planned and arranged by and for the seniors, Toga Day is one of the most exciting happenings of 1979. Another important senior class activity is the beautiful Winter Formal in February. Mid- night Magic will never be forgotten. The class of '79 has endured much. With increasing enroll- ment, ffrom 1600 in '76 to 2000 in 781 and the effects of the revolutionary Proposition 13, much has changed since its sophomore year. The changes have been overcome, a bondage has been achieved in the class, and many sure and lasting relationships have been formed. So, today, as the class of '79 draws a spirited, suc- cessful, and ardorous three-year career to a close, the seniors can finally breath a sigh of re- lief-and regret-and say, Whew! We finally made it!
