2 The Sophomore team started its season off with a forfeit from Santa Ana. Although Canyon's runners ran alone in their race, impressive times were made by all members, At the Dana Hills Invitational, the sophomores ran a two-mile course instead of the regular three-mile. The team then ran at the Costa Mesa Invitational. Though not scoring highly as a team, individual standouts were made by john McMurray, Steve Cua, and Bill Christian. In league meets, the team was faced with stiff competition from El Modena, Santa Ana Valley, and Canyon's rival, Villa Park. Taking seventh in League finals proves how hard the competition was for the Soph- omore team.
