Now with the game underway, the football players began to show signs of the mighty warriors that everyone knew they could be. With the score tied at half-time, it led the way for the crowning of the queen of the home- coming game. The scene was set with many plants and a beautiful arch of flowers and vines for the court to walk under with their fa- thers. The princesses-Linda Butler, Tina Dacus, jenny Kunkel, Stacey Levy, and Michelle Stell- horn-all waited anxiously for the name of the queen to be announced. An honorary prin- cess was added to the court also, Monica Bull-Simonsen from Sweden. The tension was evident as they all waited quietly for the name to be announced. Finally, it was announced that Michell Stellhorn would reign as the Queen of the 1978-79 year. Through many tears and applause Michelle was crowned the queen and the game continued. The Com- anches proved how strong they were, as they went on to win the Homecoming game 10 to 7 against Santa Ana. l. Princess Linda Butler waves to the spirited crowd. 2. The evening started with the band members per- forming with the high-stepping drill team members. They performed several popular numbers to the delight of the anxious and supportive student body and parents, The band and drill team members also performed at half-time before the crowning of the queen. One other group which was brought together was the newly-formed pep club. These people were scattered throughout the stands holding up many signs and banners urging on the mighty football team of Ca- nyon. They along with the cheerleaders, kept the spirit Sky-High. 1. The Class of '79 displays the enthusiasm necessary to win Spirit Week. 2. Irene Olsen and Laura Louder shine their smiles during the Drill Team's half-time perfor- mance. 3. Band director Tom Ridley keeps the music in tempo. 4. Donna Kenefick exhibited a Something Spe- cial to the crowd at the Homecoming Pep Assembly. 5. The Drill Team poses for a moment during the evening's routine. 6. Various emotions of the crowd are reflected at the Canyon-Santa Ana Pep Assembly, 7.
