The scent of pine needles and the sounds of happy people laughing and singing Christmas car- ols filled the air of the Student Center. With the 10 ft. tall Christmas tree purchased by the A.S.B. and the contributions made by many students the Stu- dent Center took on an Atmosphere of an old fashioned Christmas. The tree and Student Center were decorated by many members of the student body during nutrition, lunch, and two weekends. A photo session with Santa was added and brought out the child in us all. Santa Claus was portrayed by Tom Daly, lon Dunn, and Mr. Vince Aleccia. Rudolph also made a guest appearance in the form of Dr. jerry Uffelman. The annual Canyon Hills Christmas party was another success. loNel Nichol- son made over 150 stockings for the children and the choirs all sang Christmas carols. Another new attraction was the Wish Box. Itwas started in the beginning of the year and each month the A.S.B. would select a wish that a student had wrote. Dur- ing December, the Wish Box was transformed into a collection of answers to the question, What do you most enjoy about the holidays? Three clubs donated gifts and the winners were chosen on how well they expressed their feelings. The first annual winners were Sue Clark, Teresa Cartwright and Sue Busse. Christmas had a special feeling at Canyon in 78. 1. The Activities office took on a homey look as a tree and fire- place were added. 2. Some of the many snowcapped mountains surrounding Canyon High. 3. Sheri Neal imitates one of Santa's reindeers. 4. A delight to many Canyon students was the visit of Santa. Posing are: Lisa Cartwright, Kim Shebanek, Santa lon Dunn Claus, Lori jensen, and Teresa Cartwright. 5. Stephanie Brown and Debbie Schafer perform a skit to the music of chat- tery chipmunks. 6.
