C933 EWU W Mr. Ray Leal headed the Art Department which worked to display more art throughout the campus so that Comanches could become more aware of the department's achievements. The goal of the Art Depanment was to cultivate intellectual bases for making and justifying aesthetic judgments in the visual arts in relation to personal and community life and to the envi- ronment. A major activity of the Art Depart- ment was the Laureate show and the Orange Mall Show in May. The Music Department tried to achieve a basic foundation in music education for all its stu- dents. With the leadership of Mr. Tom Ridley and Mr. Bill Macmillan, the Music Department also strove to teach music students how to work together to reach the activities carried on by sep- arate groups in the department, all worked to- gether to present a Winter Concert. 1.
