F I 54.1 Q., IIIIITEII Fllll IIIIIIEIISTIIIIIIIIIIIII A multi-cultural high school club that strives to promote student understanding of the various cultural groups attending Ca- nyon, was Mr. Kent Moore's description of Razas Unidas. Some of these goals were attained by having guest speakers at meet- ings, going on field trips and participating in food sales. All these activities helped to break down some of the barriers that exist among ethnic groups. A field trip to Mt. Baldy was a favorite among club members, being out in the open helped them to com- municate and enjoy themselves far more than the usual classroom setting. A group of fun-loving students who en- joy the study of foreign language and cul- tures, described the International Club ac- cording to Ms. Donna Kidde, advisor. With Andrea Atkin as president, International Club had an eventful year. The most out- standing event was the International Dinner and Song Fest in the spring, other happen- ings included an ice skating and pizza party, traditional International and Christ- mas Celebration and foreign films. The club won the Christmas Door Decorating Con- test and celebrated by getting together to eat the victory cake. Even with all the mer- riment, the club was able to keep in mind at all times, an understanding and apprecia- tion of foreign cultures. 1.
