The number of Girls' League participants in- creased during the 1977-78 school year as Com- anche girls discovered that all female students at Canyon were automatic members of the organi- zation. Members worked hard during the year to suit the activity needs of all the girls at Canyon High. Meetings were spent discussing and plan- ning the annual Sadie Hawkins Dance, Hi Mom, and Date Dad festivities, while innovating a Girl of the Month program. Each month after exten- sive screening, one girl from each grade level was chosen by a panel of teachers, adminis- trators, and Women's Club representatives. The Anaheim Hills Women's Club sponsored the program and awarded a scholarship based on service to Canyon and the community to a Girl of the Year. Under the leadership of Advisor Ray Dunne and President Andre Perra, Canyon's Key Club was once again of great service to the immediate community. Landscaping and other campus im- provement projects were the most visible ac- complishments of Key Club, but other club ac- tivities included key hunts, car rallies, basketball tournaments and luncheons. Through the hard work of the members, over two thousand dollars were made during the '77-78 school year. 1.
