IllS'l'IllIIllIEIlI'I'llI. Canyon's marching band continued in its usual proficient manner during the 77-78 school year. The band played at all the foot- ball and basketball games, and at each parade and festival in the meantime. Under the guid- ance of Director Tom Ridley and Drum Major Mike Mulhollen, some of their activities, in- cluding the Cotton and Chino band reviews, West Arcadia band review and the Orange May Festival, went very well. jazz Ensemble again added music to the pep assemblies, playing the fight song and the Alma Mater, along with some popular jazz tunes. This good-sized group met at 7 a.m. ev- ery other day and practiced until school started. One of their special achievements this year was playing the accompaniment for the drama production, How to Succeed in Busi- ness Without Really Trying . 1. Adding enjoyable entertainment to Comanche sports events was a pleasure for the members of the Drill Team, as well as for the audience. The organization's fifth year of routines and choreo- graphy included such highlights as parades and the Spring Show. Many of the team's members hoped to return to join in the six a.m. prac- tices, but for those who ended their terms as I I members during 1978, 'I ll have fond memories to look back upon and new experiences to an- ticipate. tMarci Minimidej 'l.
