WWWO WDM TURB W The Varsity Tennis Team started its pre-league season with a victory over Norco, making Coach Dan Brady optimistic about future matches. With the consistent play of number-one man Dave Hultman, the ground strokes of Ken Kroes- sen, the serves of Brian Mizuki, and the volleys of Maros Sevilla, the team was in a good position to place high in the Orange League. Tennis scores and more coopy can be seen in the SPRING SUPPLEMENT. Two pre-league wins kicked off the junior Var- sity Tennis season for the '78 year, scores of 18 Vi-9 V2 against Bolsa Grande and Loara were en- couraging to Coach Mike Najera and to all of his team members. Coach Najera named Taylor Hunter, Keith Frank, Dan Ritzer, and Andy Bru- ner as his top players and was pleased with Frank's aggressiveness, Bruner's consistency, and Ritzer's serve. The lV's first league match was against Sonora and it ended in a 7-7 tie. After that experience, the lV's vowed to practice harder in an attempt to win the Orange League title, whether or not that goal was reached is re- corded in the SPRING SUPPLEMENT. 1.
