Ellllllllll lil Ill ll In the first year of swimming and diving at Ca- nyon, the Varsity team showed its inexperience in competition but stamina in sports with four wins and eight losses. The outstanding senior was Bill Boyle, individual medley and out- standing juniors were Ross Herman, breastst- roke, Chuck Lay 200 and 100 freestyle, and Dale Taylor, diving. But the season record for the sophomore team showed promise for the future with seven wins and three losses. Though swimming and diving in their first high school competition the soph- omores won third place in league meets. Out- standing sophomores were Scott Townley dis- tance freestyle' Kirk Stafford individual medley jon Dunn breaststroke. 1. Pain from physical exertion shows on lon Dunn s face during a breaststroke race. 3. Determined to break his own personal record, Bill Boyle executes a but- terfly turn to head for the finish line. 4. A false start sends all swimmers into the pool, including Comanche Roy Hennegan. 5. Ross Herman butterflies to the finish line in the rain at the LaHabra meet. 6. Roy Hennegan goofs a round during prac- tice with his Pluto swim cap. 7.
