Football Teaches aluable Lessons Football teaches a lesson in life, team- work, perserverance, and dedication. Hard work equals success, said Head Coach Bob Smith. Kevin Gaston and Kiki Leonard learned their lesson. Leonard won the Most Inspirational player award, while Gaston captured the Golden Helmet award. You learn to motivate yourself and go beyond your abiIities, said Glenn Wyman, a senior. The other Wyman, Greg, said, l got com- panionship, friendship, and the ability to overcome adversity out of football. Phil Wright claimed, CDO football means pride and victory whether it is winning the game or learning something from the defeat. The varsity team had a winning season, placing second in divisionals. The players trained long and hard hours. The coaching staff made men out of the boys, stated Armando Soto, a sophomore. All the Wa Down the Line For the first time the freshman team was the undefeated conference champ. As Coach Norris and Coach Bailey stated, There was a lot of determination and team effort and the whole team showed great improvement in ability and spirit. Out- standing linemen were Kenneth Epperley and Kevin Thomas. Best quarterbacks were Mike Wittman and Mark Koskonemi. Best running back Steve Dorazio. Defense stand outs Flon Martinez, Scott Daniels and Craig Vesling. The J.V. record was 5 and 4. The coaches also felt that they had a good time coaching their team.
