Ver the Mountains and hrough the Snow 'g Lemon, Sunrise, were just some of the places Club went to. We took a plane instead of a Greyhound to some of those places, commented Mr. San- chez, who was one of the sponsors, along with Mr. Mangels. A hundred members or more participated in the Ski Club, ranging from beginners to advanced. Those members paid dues of two dollars and received a discount on the trips made. Professional skiers came and spoke to the Ski Club. When asked what was gained by membership in the club, one student commented, We learned new skills and made friends but mostly we had a good time. Man and Machine, a Challenge of Wits We have more time to work, learn, and do certain things that we did not have time for in class, said Senior Ruth Esbeck, member of the Auto Tech Club. The purpose of the club was to expand the knowledge of the members as they practiced the complicated and sometimes not so compli- cated theories of the Auto Mechanics field. The club, which had about 17 members, including some girls, met during the evening between 6 and 8 P.M., and during T!A time on Thursdays. Members also went on several field trips. Mr. Karner commented, What really makes the club work is that we have some of the most sophisticated equipment available for our use. 11 the Wor1d's a Stage . . . The Dramatic Dorados was a new club at C.D.O. Every per- son had a chance to become a member of the Thespian Soci- ety by earning 10 points, if they wished. The points were made by being involved in various fund raising activities. Miss Allred, the new advisor, commented that there was lots of effort and participation. The officers of the club include Susan Woods, Jena Martin, Stephanie Burkett, Maria Jamie, and Cami Smith. The main function of the Dramatic Dorados was as help to the school. They also entertained the older people, and tried to begin meaningful relationships between club members and people who need them. They have felt the satisfaction that comes from helping other people. 3 62!Dramatic Dorados x-ss ,E , tr .sf W ,. W, T ,V T . A f' 1.34 Iggy
