Leadership, Character, Service The Honor Society members gave some of their own time and etfert to make the club more worthwhile. All members of this club had to have a 3.5 average in required classes dur- ing their ninth and tenth grade years. The Honor Society rec- ognized the select students that were outstanding in charac- ter, scholarship, leadership, and service. There were about sixty students in this organization. The majority of them were Juniors. lVlr. Lomaglio, who was the sponsor ofthe club had this to say, I enioyed being the sponsor, but it had a lot of responsibilities. Although Mr. Lomaglio thinks very highly of the club, he would like to see it include students from all scholastic areas. 5 3 58!Honor Society

ulch Weiss nicht, was soll es bcdeutena' German Club promotes interest in cultural understanding and can form the basis for future inter-cultural relation- ships, stated Mr. Gavitt, advisor of the German Club. The purpose of the club was to encourage study and interest in European cultures. This was the only club that was spon- sored by a C.D.O. Foreign Language group. In their activi- ties, the approximately 14 members of the club sold candy for visits to rest homes where they sang Christmas Carols in German. They also planned to send several students to Ger- man schools to audit the classes. As one member stated, I think that German Club is really a fine club that relates to everyone. . .m....J-......... ,M S i . ,..,,.,,I,. x W 1 Q .skit LLKL, M Picture 1, Several members discuss various German phrases.
