ne of CDO's Finest . . . DECA Distributive Education Clubs of America, or DECA in Iaymans' terms, is one of many clubs at CDO. DECA is a co-curricular activity of the marketing and merchandizing classes sponsored by Bar- bara Greenway. Mrs. Greenway claims, l teach these classes and am extremely interested in business, I enjoy DECA very much. Among DECA's activities were selling the traditional mums for homecoming, giving a Halloween party for retarded adults at the Southern Arizona train- ing center, and holding an area conference for DECA on the CDO campus involving 16 schools and 560 students. All students could get involved. DECA was an opportunity to develop new friendships and improve student-teacher rel- ationships. Picture l, Estimating how much a project will cost. I learned a whole lot about business, I found out which career l'm headed for, and I helped out the school-and at the same time it was fun, said one student of her participa- tion in FBLA. The Future Business Leaders of America club was unfamiliar to many students-it was a new addition to the CDO program. lt was aimed at the students-what ques- Making It Happen for the Communit tions and concerns they had for our government. But.the thing that's really good about FBLA, said one student, ls not the career opportunities, or the new knowledge, or any- thing else. It's the satisfaction one can get from just belong- ing. Another agreed. FBLA was worth my time. I may not have made the same decision for the future without it. 29113 rm: HAWK- V ff , .. ... meanwh- ,TQ ttttttttt V 3 Q .Alun .4 S 'X Picture I, Several members listen carefully to a lecture on business.
