Songleaders, Cheerleaders Keep Spirit Alive CDO's spiritleaders provided basketball, football and wres- tling teams with the spirit needed to obtain victorious goals. There was unity between the pepsters and their teams, Gina Gambino explained this, We practice separately from the teams, but at games we worked together. Spiritleaders were essential not only to the teams but to the school as well. Cheerleaders provided the spirit which was essential for the teams victories, but the whole school contributed together, said Lynda Wailes. Spiritleaders are the back- bone to school spirit, said KiKi Leonard. Spirit was a three way unity involving teams, students, and spiritleaders. The spiritleaders were definitely vital to CDO. Harmony Echos in the CDO Halls When going past the chorus room, you can hear the echo of the choir classes. In choir there were the beginning Mixed Chorus, Advanced Girls Choir for more experienced singers, The Canyon Singers which had the largest ensemble, and Concert Choir, in which the top singers performed. This class is mostly for your own personal enjoyment, it gives you confidence in your abilities, commented Mr. Waggoner. Chorus gave some students opportunity to travel and to meet other people. Brad Johnson, the organization's presi- dent, remarked, lt's a great choir, particularly the ensem- ble. We get a lot ot experience from choir.
