A Contrasting Climate and Lifestyle lt's a good experience for foreign students and for the fam- ilies they stayed with, said one student of the American Field Service Club. AFS raised S975 to sponsor the 1978-79 foreign students: Isabel Carralhal of Brazil and Sunka Simon of Germany. The students traveled to different countries or states for six-month periods, living with families who had similar interests and hobbies. Mrs. Barnes commented, Members of AFS really enjoy having foreign students. They learn about one's culture and Iifestyle. One student com- mented, AFS is a club which is worthwhile and fun. .. Drumming Up Spirit What group of students made up the football team's most loyal supporters? Which organization sparked the Dorado spirit and cheered dejected crowds to victory? Who displayed tremendous talent and technique for masses of music fans? The CDO band was responsible for these and many other activities. This group, which included the marching band, the jazz ensemble, and the concert band has always been the pride of CDO. Schools throughout the state are awed by the size and skill of the Dorado marching band, and the jazz ensemble impresses future Dorados at elementary school programs.
