Students Relate in Business I liked the program because it allowed students to work at their own pace and to work with the teachers they preferred. These word state the teacher-stu- dent relationship in CDO's business department. Many students felt that the systems used in typing, shorthand, exploratory business and accounting were very useful to any students who took them. As Ken Epperly said, Typing is very useful and helps me with my other assignments. This explained the interest of so many students who enrolled in the business department. The other reason was that the skills they learned in business could aid them in future jobs. Mrs. Suddeth, a new teacher involved in CDO's business department, taught in business programs at two colleges here in Tucson. She has experience with more complicated programs and she exclaimed, The business department here at CDO is very outstanding. This results from the understanding between the students and teachers. This statement, along with many others conclude that the business department at CDO had a great deal to do with the outstanding student-teacher rela- tionship. Picture 1, Typing comes easily to a beginner who concentrates. Picture 2, Anne Heintz takes time out from accounting. Picture 3, Mr. Johnson, before resignation from business dept. Picture 4, Accounting requires many figures. Picture 5, Mrs. Anderon enjoys her work. 2O!Business ix ,WV 545, . X M? if

Janitors Sweep the Way for All Where would we have been without those nameless tireless, none the less appreciated people we call janitors? Probably slipping and sliding our way through lunch on somebody else's peanut butter and jelly sandwich! They always seemed to be there, picking up after our many messes. The janitors are okay, as long as they keep the cafeteria neat and clean, commented junior Scott Brevaire. They were noticed and needed every day of the week, whether it was to sandblast off the many spray-painted lines that were on the campus or to sweep out the cafeteria. Sophomore Kathy Hatfield had this to say about them: The jani- tors at our school do a considerable job in maintaining the general upkeep of CDO. Jun- ior Sherry Olsen agreed, saying They have an ability to put up with people that few possess. And senior Damon Millar sums up the feeling of many students by saying, They are pretty cool. Picture 1, With a look of anguish, Mrs. Maxam awaits the lunchtime rush. Picture 2, Mrs. Casey rolls the daily lunch trays into the kitchen. Picture 3, Mr. Austin takes a small rest before starting his afternoon shift. Picture 4, Mr. Howell stops his work to give a friendly smile. Picture 5, Starting the long laborous job of washing dishes. Picture 6, A student gets the experience of working in the kitchen. 22!Cafeteria and Custodians
