- Wm H MM. .. ..w .,, ,fy K V lg ...,. ,,. ff ,, Q ii l ri A New Look Looking back on CDO, past graduates realize that their small suburban school is growing up. I came back once last semester and it just wasn't the same place, remembered one alumni. Everyone always told me I couIdn't ever come back and I see what they meant. Canyon Del Oro has changed, both on the inside and the outside. Additions to the campus included a complete fine arts com- plex, a new gym, and several science buildings. Also new on campus were the foreign students Sunka Simon from Germany, and Isabel Carvalhal of Brazil. Said one student, I have visited other schools and so far have not found one equal to CDO. More changes came in the form of two new administrative assistants, Mr. Keenan and Mr. Devine. Their aim was to work with freshmen and sophomores who were experiencing attendance prob- lems. Did it work? Apparently it helped. The amounts of unexcused absences declined, particularly in the freshman class, commented Dr. Wil- son. This year represents a year of transition into the big school profile, he continued, and next year may be our last in Class AA. One student expressed his opinion, The bigger, the better. The more people there are, the more experiences there are to Iive. One of Dr. Wilson's worries was the possibility of his losing contact with the students as the population continued to grow. I hope that CDO will always be the same old place for me to come back to after I graduate, said one senior. Another laughed, I never plan on leaving.
