A large amount of spirit existed among both the girls tennis teams and it was this spirit that brought them a victorious season. Predic- tions were made that the teams were strong enough to take first place. How did the team members prepare for this test of skill and stamina? Both girls teams got into condition by taking seventh hour PE. Under the direc- tion of several tennis coaches, they worked out after school, putting in at least three hours of hard practice every day. A member of the girls team said, lt was our skill that brought us a good season and outstanding records. Another agreed, We're pretty good but l think with time and experience we can work out any playing problems we have, and then we'll be good enough to blow away the other teams around. ll- Sei la. 100fGirls Tennis

ase on Down the Road Track is definitely an individual sport but it takes all the individuals to make up a good team. This statement, made by iunior track member Kristen Tober, adequately describes the relationship among track members as individuals as well as team members. The track team had a good sea- son with very large and talented varsity teams. The teams were split into two groups: boys and girls, with two coaches. Coach Carol Anderson expressed her opin- ion towards the relationship between coach and team members by saying, Track is an extremely individual sport but it's the coach's responsibility to give the team members enough attention to obtain the self confidence needed to win. Track, whether looked upon as individuals relating to coaches and themselves, or team mem- bers relating as a group, was definitely a memorable sport. 4 102!Varsity Track
