Principal's Message The badge of Christianity is not an outward sign, not the wearing ofa cross or a crown, but it is that which reveals the union of man with God The strongest argument in favor of the gospel is a loving and lovable Christian. - Ellen White Over the last few years l have seen that badge of lovableness in many friends and associates. ln fact, God has blessed my life with a super-abundance of such Christians. This has been especially true at Campion Academy. This year it has been my special pleasure to be working, playing, studying and praying with a great group of badge wearers . l think of the student who shared her 'Milky Way. Of the student who regulary drops by to say hello and l'm praying for you. Of the staff members who spend dozens of hours working with students who need a little some- thing extra. And of myriads of others who are actively loving and lovable gospel arguments. To each and all of those l say Thank you . You have done much to make Christ central at Campion this year. May he always keep each of our badges well-shinning - Elder Dick Duerksen ' VM4' m Editor's Foreword Another yeor . . . onorher yeorbook. Well, we hope not. This yeor, the Mountoin Echoes stotf hos tried to put together o different onnuol, unique to this yeor. I would like to thonk my stoff for working so hord ond well together to moke our deodlines. We would like to give speciol thonks to Elder Duerksen for providing the closs time thot mode this possible. We would olso thonk Mr. Anderson, for oll the time he put in, his potience with us, ond his humor thot kept us going. The hord work of Mr. Hoyes ond his photogrophers hos olso been greotly opprecioted. We hope you will enjoy your yeorbook, both now ond in the yeors to come. -Loni Meod ChopIoin's Chonce There is on inscription on o tombstone in o smoll cemetery in centrol Texos which soysg There ore millions of children in the vvorld, it's true. But there wos only one of you, God hos millions of Children in the world, but there is only one of you. You ore very speciol ond distinct in His sight, There hos never been onother like you ond there will never be. He doesn's wont you to be like others, He wonts you to become the very best you thot you con possibly be. Thanks so much for standing behind us and encouraging us through all of our trials and tribulations Cwhich we've had plenty ofb. We would like to give a very, very special thanks to our number one class sponsors: Benjie, even though you are the Campus Chaplain and are supposed to be unbiased, thank you for accepting the challenge we gave you. We are so grateful to you for giving us that spiritual lift that we needed. Mr. Hinman, we know that there have been many times when you have gotten frustrated and discouraged with our class. Thanks for sticking with us and keeping our spirit going. Lost but not least, Mrs. Dart, our good ol' Biology teacher. Remember our sophomore year? Well, just forget it and remember all of the good times that we've had. Keep up the good work and we will miss you a lot. Well, the great class of 8i is off to see what the future has in store for us and Campion, you have prepared us well to handle anything that comes in our way. Oh, yes, a note to the classes of 82 , 83 , and 84 . We know that on this campus class unity and class spirit are essentials Cor so we think they areb. But don't let this class spirit get in the way of unifying our school. We know that all of you will miss our spirit and the laughter that we have brought into many of your lives, We must now soy goodbye, but the memories of this old school shall remain with us for a long time.
