Many times when I feel depressed I think of how lucky I am to have you always ready to help me, encourage me, or share the joys and sorrows I have. - My childhood memories are pleasant pictures of traveling with the family, sitting around the table at Thanksgiving, decorating Christmas trees, going for walks on Sabbath, and sitting by the fireplace telling stories. You talk much about the wars and depressions yourwent through when you were young. I know that all along you have tried hard to give ME what you didn't have as a child; it was appreciat- ed, even though I may never have said it. In closing, I want to say thanks for giving me a Christian education and thanks even more for your never failing love and friendship for me. ' Love, Your Student Dear Big 'O' er. Ockengal, You're a very special person to us! So many times you've put youxself out for us--for instance, taking us clear to Ft. Collins for a small item like a ski buckle, or just working long houxs day after day to prepare our meals. Thank you for putting up with all the ice fights, the orange peeling fights, and just the general disorder we have caused. We don't see how you've put up with us for as long as you have. But most of all, thank you for simply caring about us, and giving of yourself. Love, The Students J .A. SHEPARD PRINCIPAL From the pen of inspiration we read, Every human being, created in the image of God is endowed with a power akin to that of the Creator, --individuality, power to think and to do. It is the work of true education to develop this power; to train the youth to be thinkers, and not mere reflectoxs of other men's thoughts. It is our constant aim at this academy to chalenge the youth to their fullest capacity. The history and culture of the past are important to the student, but more important is the ability to make meaningful applications to present day situations. Greatness is produced by independent thought and action. The youth of today who take time to think, to investigate, to analyze, and make individual decisions will be the leaders of tomorrow. The church and the world will have need of them. May this year be remembered for capabil- ities developed and victories won. They seem to take the sun out of the friendship out of life. world that take Cicero BIBLE CAMP This year two Bible Camps were held. The first, at Camp Arrowhead in Nebraska. The second, at Glacier View in Colorado. At both students received a great blessing. WEEK OF PRAYER In October, the student body considered it a real pri- vilege having Elder John Butler for Week of Prayer. His using a new and simple approach to study various church doctrines was greatly appreciated by the students. 10 STUDENT WEEK OF PRAYER LeAnn Schneider Brent Keeton Raedene Austin Pat McGuire Carmen Cupp Cheryl Henley Holly Fredricksen Mark Fowler Mark Bauer Marvin Howard RELIGIOUS CONMMTTEE Jerry Schwarzer-- President Mary Thurston-- Secretary Captains-- Mark Fowler Terry Anderson Karen Howard Sue Peterson Andi Tokle, Mr. Barker, Betty Goss, Sylvi Gutekunst, Dorothy Werner, Miladene Strode, DelJean Hill, Lonnie Edwards, Calvin Frie- sen, Ed Blecha, Ken Wiseman, Elder Wise- man, Mr. Marsh, Mr. Benson, Miss Leon- hardt. Some Campionites experienced one of these on the S.A. --sponsored outing at Glacier View Ranch. Be- sides fresh air and fun, the purpose of this weekend was to get better acquainted with the new students. 15 16 LONGRS PEAK HIKE At 6:00 Sunday morning, approximately twenty-five determined hikers set out for Longs Peak. It's SO cold ! and My feet are tired , were some expressions heard often that day, After five hours of steady climbing, twelve of the twenty-five reached the top. FALL TRACK MEET WORK A-THON One day students and faculty took off the full day to go clean up Loveland Lake, around campus, and a few places in Berthoud. This was one way that the students worked for money for our future swimming pool. S.A. HALLOWEEN BANQUET Ooh, did you see that two-headed monster? No, butI saw the headless one and he's really gross-looking ! These and many other such gruesome creatures were present at the Hallo- ween Banquet. Following an inviting dinner was a pie-eating contest and games for all to participate in. 19 BOYS CLUB AND GIRUS On the evening of December 14, an in- teresting Christmas banquet was held. During the meal, the students were en- tertained by a musically talented couple. The next portion of the evening found Santa and elves to be passing out Christ- mas presents. Then a moviehwas shown in the Chapel. The boys and girls' clubs did well in planning a successful and en- joyable evening. CLUB X-MAS BANQUET S.A. VALENTINES BANQUET Despite the fact that two touring groups had just come back from tour, there was still excitement and energy in getting ready for the banquet. Before dinner Cour- tesy Court was announced. Then after dinner This is Your Life was held for the faculty. The evening ended with a film To Sir With Love . Dr. Sherman Cox--M. C. S.A. CHRISTMAS PLAY A Friday night, the drizzling snow, everyone singing Christ- man carols, and the big tree lit. This was the setting for the Nativity scene. It was a nice way to start off the Christ- man season. 27 w i 32945243: STUDENT-FACULTY SENATE The purpose of Student-Faculty senate is for students as well as faculty to exchange views on issues they feel important, in order to create unity within the school. 31 32 Mark Baue r- - President Marvin Howard-- Spiritual Vice-President Jeanne Eve rett- - Secretary Cheryl Henley Vice-President LeAnn Schneider- - Social Vice-President -12 Diana Albe rtson- - Treasurer STUDENT ASSOCIATION OFFICERS 1975-76 Lisa Cushing-- Public Relations Cheri Scriven-- Girls Sports Director Brent Keeton-- Boys Sports Director Richard Pe rrott- - Sergeant- at- arms Vicki Nuttu ' Raedene Austin-- Frontlersman Edltor Mountain Echoes Editor 33 What do we live for if it is not to make life less difficult for others? Just as the hike of a ball starts a play, football lights the spark of excitement and enthusiasm in almost every guy's heart. Although much time and en- ergy is sacrificed for this sport, it still holds in- terest for the players. And even though sore muscles and bruised knees may be the only re- ward of the football player, simply the love for the game keeps him going. All of us maturing together and changes occuring amongst us all. Now the time has come for you to leave us and go your seperate ways. Some of you may be looking for- ward to leaving, others not really sure and uncertainity may fill your minds in one way or another. A chapter of your'lives are closed, a new leaf will soon open up for you. Happiness should be a part of this farewell because you leave with success and honor that you have shown us in these past three years. Memories are a part of saying good-bye, good times will remain and be remembered; things which weren't so pleasant will fade away. All that we want to say is good luck to you in your futures to come, keeping the love of Jesus close by your sides. ,7,7u7wu7778 ince rely, The Class of '77' SENIOR AUTOGRAPHS 92 4-YEAR STUDENTS ??$ LEFT TO RIGHT: Curtis Gulka Mark Bauer, Konni Spaulding, Wanda Ready, Connie Beans, Calvin Friesen, LeAnne Dupper, Lisa Cushing, Rita VanHom, Pam Knopp, Melissa Hill, Scott Martin, Richard Perrott, Diana Albertson, Robin Eisenman, Terri Davidson, Jim Bie- ber, Sherri Penn, Brent Keeton, LeAnn Schneider, Lonnie Edwards, Dorothy Werner, Carol McCrumb.
