Mr. Brost, your understanding, your willing- ness and the time that you have devoted to help students find God can never be repaid. Mrs. Brost, your smile and wit, you: help and love, have guided many students along the rough path. . Because of these reasons, and many more, the CampionAcademy Student Association proudly, yet humbly, dedicates the '69 MOUNTAIN ECHOES to you. Wherever the bright sun of heaven shall shine, His honour and the greatness of His name shall be, and make new na- tions. --Shakespeare 9?; $ H ; d QwMng a I 1 O G a 1 s e u e r P B e m m m r C a1m m n E m 0 0 16 r 1r f oQWu vAne g uw, h .m 00 :C S hlls S . By beholding we become changed are words that should ring constant- ly within our minds as we consider our spiritual relationships to the cross of Christ and the world. It is my hope that the days of our Week of Prayer will enabel us to know the distinct advantages as Christian youth of practicing this spiritual exercise regularly that we might intelligently weigh the Values of the cross versus those of the world. Let us behold the Lamb of God as a way of life and know that at the cross the Greatest and Holiest of all is waiting for us there. KKMW J. H. One p0 rtion of ACT was community service offered to the citizens of Loveland and the surrounding areas . Housework, yardwork, and minor home repairs were jobs given to the students by the two co-presidents, Noel G a r dn e r and Jacque Reiboldt, after Connie Brown, secretary-treas- urer, r e c e i v e d requests by phone or mail. 22 BIBLE CAMP I went to Bible Camp hoping only to escape the routine of school. While there, I watched with a group of other early birds as the flaming sun rose silhouetted between two peaks and changed the sky from dull gray to Violent pink and orange. I watched the light from the dy- ing fire glow in faces of fellow stu- dents as they told of the joy found from being close to God. I sensed a Clo 8 en e s s and love toward each member of the group. I was slowly overwhelmed by the spirit of enthusiasm all around me. When I came away, I was bubbling over with a new awareness of life. Selling candy and letter writing raised $4500.00 for their projects. The night before the first day of school the S.A. helped the students get acquainted. They found out: furthest from home: Len and Bernice Bobst tallest boy: Steve Schwarz and Karl Ordelheide tallest girl: Melanie Thompson shortest boy: Allen Pehrson shortest girl: Judy Colburn largest feet: Spencer Lagro brightest socks: Bruce McKinney Afterwards 28 watermelons were cut for the students' enjoy- ment. The students filled out forms of what they thought the perfect date would be . The forms went through a computer and a Saturday night was spent by the lake with the perfect date. A spook house, hayrack ride, Whip cream fight, and watching Phil Neuharth win the pie eating contest treated the students to an evening of Halloween fun. Thanksgiving is a special time to share with others what God has given. Eighteen orphans joined the students for the Thanks- giving Supper. Let's make a deal, said Santa Key, for the Christmas party. Good deals, bad deals, funny deals, and sad deals made the students laugh and laugh. An Evening at the Royal Table was the theme for the January Banquet. Here it was that the 1969 Courtesy King and Queen and thier attendants were announced. 29 The students making $35 . 00 profit for the S.A. campaign had the privilege of a weekday ski trip. $50.00 gave the students a two day overnight trip. A broken leg, 21 broken ski, and other accidents slowed down the spirits; but with good snow, plenty of sunshine, and 61 skiers the trip was wonderful. Elder William Fuchs has been at Campion for four years, guiding the school in an upward way. His cheerful smile, his unchanging opinions, his knowl- edge of each student's person- ality are just some of the things that have improved Campion. Doing sit-ups in chapel, at- tending every Saturday night program, entering every phase of life at Campion--he has won respect, Mr. Pflugrad works hard trying to give students the work they want, rearranging the budget to help everyone in the best way, and caring for stu- dents whether they are in or out of trouble.
