IIVI-J What ' s It Like . . . Do you really want to know? Well, you asked for it! How about dirty socks in your closet, nine and one-half pairs of shoes under your bed, a search for your contact in the midst of ■ papers, pens, and books on your desk? Then there ' s always the thrill of getting a telephone call from some guy ; the agony of attending a fifteen-minute dorm meeting that becomes one and one-half hours long; the thrill of a surprise birthday party when everything you possess turns up ' anywhere but in your room; the agony of getting scorched in the shower; the thrill of a midnight panty raid ; the agony of having your last 30c eaten by a hungry vending machine; the thrill of drying clothes over the balcony or out on the lawn, the place where they eventually end up; the agony of trying to revive a dying plant that your boyfriend gave to you. Then there ' s that first date with THE guy — he ' s a whole five minutes early, and you ' re still in the shower. He ' s dressed in blue jeans, and you ' re wearing your Sunday Best He ' s so calm and together, and you smile nervously as you try to soak up the overturned coke. You think that the night will never end when you ' re standing at the door. You say goodnight and turn to fumble with the combination. After several attempts, he notices the small sign: The combination has been changed. See your R.A. for the new one. You feel like crawling under the door, when he says: It ' s been a unique experience . . .

What ' s It Like . That alarm sounds off every morning at 7:15 sharp. How I wish it wouldn ' t ring at least one day out of the week because I never feel like going to class so early in the morning. As I lie so sleepily across my bed getting every possible extra minute of peaceful rest, I realize it ' s time to get up and get ready to go face my professors. Oh well, into the shower and off to breakfast and then to class. Forget about making up the bed; I ' ll do it when I get back. Probably straighten up the room too, it sure does need it. Well, I made it! Accounting, Government, Biology, and Lab too! All of them went over with a breeze! Mrs. Lockerman didn ' t even realize I didn ' t have my homework. Boy, am I glad all my classes are over for the day because I am ready for tonight to get here. After our intramural Softball game this afternoon, the guys and I are heading for Dunn, Raleigh or who knows where.
