Moving In It all begins on that hot August Sunday. A sleepy campus is rudely awakened by students. Familiar choruses of Hey! ring through the air while suitcases packed to capacity are lugged up three flights of stairs. Innocent bystanders are drafted to haul stereos, plants, and other familiar paraphernalia into the dorm. Gradually, cars once crammed to the max begin to empty as dorm rooms become more and more cluttered. Blaring stereos announce the arrival of more students and signal the departure of family members. Now comes the chore of arranging and rearranging clothes that never fit as neatly in the drawers as they did in the suitcase, sticking and resticking p osters that refuse to stay stuck, hammering and rehammering nails that always become bent. But in most cases, boxes are pushed to one side and suitcases are left open while the search begins for both new and old friends.

IIVI-J What ' s It Like . . . Do you really want to know? Well, you asked for it! How about dirty socks in your closet, nine and one-half pairs of shoes under your bed, a search for your contact in the midst of ■ papers, pens, and books on your desk? Then there ' s always the thrill of getting a telephone call from some guy ; the agony of attending a fifteen-minute dorm meeting that becomes one and one-half hours long; the thrill of a surprise birthday party when everything you possess turns up ' anywhere but in your room; the agony of getting scorched in the shower; the thrill of a midnight panty raid ; the agony of having your last 30c eaten by a hungry vending machine; the thrill of drying clothes over the balcony or out on the lawn, the place where they eventually end up; the agony of trying to revive a dying plant that your boyfriend gave to you. Then there ' s that first date with THE guy — he ' s a whole five minutes early, and you ' re still in the shower. He ' s dressed in blue jeans, and you ' re wearing your Sunday Best He ' s so calm and together, and you smile nervously as you try to soak up the overturned coke. You think that the night will never end when you ' re standing at the door. You say goodnight and turn to fumble with the combination. After several attempts, he notices the small sign: The combination has been changed. See your R.A. for the new one. You feel like crawling under the door, when he says: It ' s been a unique experience . . .
