History of '59 Certainly our first three years as Buc- caneers were memorable ones, but we all remember most vividly our final two se- mesters at Campbell High-the glorious Senior Year. We'll remember the daily incidents like the many cheery Hi's as we walked down the corridors-- like the helter- skelter panic of the five minute break between classes and how we sullenly trudged into Room 3l for that little slip of paper which meant that five minutes wasn't long enough. We'll not soon forget the sufferings caused by the Constitution notebook and term paper. We'll remember the happy times of Easter Vacation, of football and basketball games. Mainly, though, we'll remember the big times-there was our excellent Senior Play, Dino, which received showers of praise from many for being the best ever presented on the Campbell stage. How could we forget our sparkling Ball, Moments to Remember -how we danced to the music of Lee Mortenson in beautiful Adobe Creek Lodge? The mem- ory of our Sneak Day when we trekked to Santa Cruz on the blue Pacific for a fun- filled day of swimming, sunning, baseball, volleyball, eating, and, most of all un- studying, will linger for a long time. We'll remember our class officers with Bruce Johnson at the helm first semester, and Sam Lo Bue taking over second se- mester. We'll remember also the high scholas- tic rating so apparent at Campbell. 75WJ of Campbell's seniors continue their ed- ucation at a college as compared to the national average-35fk. Let us always be thankful for the fine counsellors and teachers who have helped us reach Baccalaureate and, finally grad- uation. Let us also thank them for help- ing to make the Class of '59-the class of firsts, -the most exceptional class ever to spend four years at Campbell High School. Bruce Johnson Terry Stonehocker Brooke Manza na res Chester ltow Senior Class We, the Senior Class of '59 can long be proud of our accomplishments at Camp- bell High School. Since our first year of school as Fresh- men, we earned the title, a class of firsts -we were the first Freshman Class to cast the highest percentage of votes in a council election, the first Junior Class to sell the greatest amount of subscriptions, per student, in the Junior Magazine Sale, the very first Senior Class to present its Senior Play to a completely filled audi- torium during both performances. Under the capable leadership of Pres- idents Steve Larson and Sam Lo Bue, Vice Presidents Charlotte Uyeda and Will Lu- jan, Secretaries Kathy Ray and Grace Ku- bota, and Treasurers Florence Gianetto and Patte Bowman, we, as Freshman, en- joyed a year which proved to be great fun for all. We held our skating party that year, and produced an assembly which exceeded them all. ln our Sophomore year we again dis- played our talents in the Sophomore As- sembly, and held a Spring Party with swimming, dancing, and food for all. Sam Lo Bue and Will Lujan were our presi- dents that year, Vice Presidents were Charlotte Uyeda and Florence Gianetto, with Secretaries Sharon Pinza and Judy Langen, and Treasurers Pat Harrison and Steve Larson. Our Junior year was a year of elections, Jerry Hyde, Sam LoBue, and Will Lujan became councilmen, while we chose Steve Larson and Sam LoBue as Presidents, Judy Langen and Florence Gianetto as Vice Presidents, Secretaries Judy and Jeanne Sandretto, and Treasurers Doug Wilson and Patte Bowman. To pay the expenses of our wonderful Junior Prom, Moon- light Enchantment, and the future, fun- filled Senior year, we sold 554,342 worth of magazine subscriptions. During the remaining months, the top salesmen en- joyed a steak fry and the entire class put on another top notch Junior Assembly.
