- Ffa-3-T024 l'l t'36 f2' 1M9 2 s c A M 13 L 4 4 Senior History just four short years ago eighty-nine students for the first time entered the high school building at Gillette, as students of Campbell County High School. Students in every sense of the word, for they were a peppy bunch and fitted readily into the routine of the school work. They were freshmen 'and were proud of it, for did not they have four long years in which to enjoy the priveleges of such a school, They realized they were a large class and others soon realized it also, for before the first semester was over, the new high school building had so progressed that they, the student body, were removed from the grade school building into their rightful home. During the first year the class of '28 became duly organized and con- ducted their business as though it were a second-nature. As president they chose Ollie Wright and with her cooperation they succeeded in sliding over the. rough spots and coming out on top all the time. The class, from the start showed its athletic ability and willingness. Though green, as all freshmen are bound to be, they started in as if they knew their business, and the girls under the leadership of their captain, Ruth Parks, lost the championship in the class tournament by one point. After that tho, the girls succeeded in being victorious three years in' suc- cession and, in the senior year, the boys came to the front also, and won in the basketball class tournament. No class has ever been better repre- sented than the class of '28 in any activity. f The class of '28 was the first class to ever attempt to put on a class play during their sophomore year, but it's a surprising class and the other classes did not better succeed in their dramatic production although they had had previous experience. The next year they again put on a play with their usual success. And now this class is doing another thing, to show that they realize that the school is- growing, for the first time in the history of Campbell County High School, the. Senior class is putting out an Annual, small to be sure, but full of good thought, the expression of their best efforts. Who can do more? During the course of the four years of high school work, many have become discouraged and fallen away by the wayside, but others realizing the worthiness of the C. C. H. S. class of '28 have' entered the ranks. And now it, is time for the class to disband, and, too, for each member to fight his way alone, but the memory lives, and the examples set dan never be forgotten, nor can the students be forgotten, though they leave the school they go , Tommorow to fresh helds and pastures new.
