Keen rivalry has always existed in the past but this year it seemed that each of the various teams were just a little bit more on edge to try and route out their rivals. The captains of the different classes were: Girls Boys Ruth Parks . . . Senior Leonard Hays . . Senior Mildred Brough . . . junior Charles Day . . . junior Vivian Sutherland . Sophomore Don McPherson Sophomore Madonna Emmic . . Freshman Frank Butler , . . Freshmen Both the boys and girls showed up very well this year. The results of the games played were as follows: Boys WON LOST PERCENT Seniors 3 0 1.000 Sophomores 2 l .667 juniors 2 2 .500 Freshmen 0 4 .000 Girls WON LOST PERCENT Seniors 3 0 1.000 juniors 2 I .667 Sophomores l 2 .333 Freshmen 0 3 .000 The Seniors were champions this year. It was the first time for the boys, although they came very close to winning last year. The girls have held the place for three years, losing by one point, when they were Freshmen. The girl's captain for four years was Ruth Parks. There has always been a rine spirit and good sportsmanship shown by all classes during the tournament. Pug Thirty r '4 4 if

The teams present were Buffalo, Gillette, Moorcroft, Rozet, Upton, Newcastle, Ranchester, and Sundance. The tournament was a great success. lt went over better than any of the tournaments held in the previous years. After the Hrst series of games it was apparent that Sundance, Buf- falo, Gillette, and Newcastle were the best teams entered. The Hrst game between Newcastle and Moorcroft was a slow affair which New- castle won by a score of 14-9. The game between Buffalo and Gillette was fast and clean with Buffalo having the advantage, Gillette being off form, losing after a spirited rally in the last half which netted them 6 points pushing the score up to 16-10. Upton's size and lack of practice gave Ranchester a decided advant- age. Score was 27-7. A lucky basket in the last minute of a three minute over time period won the game for Newcastle 6-4 in the New- castle-Ranchester game. The first elimination came when Buffalo beat Upton 60-8. Rozet held Gillette to a score of 6-3 in the first half but Gillette came strong in the second half and held Rozet scorless and brought the score up to 19. Sundance played circles around Moorcroft but the pluckv lads from eastern end of Crook County never gave up till the gong sounded for the end of the game. The Camels got back in form Friday afternoon, meeting Ranchester. Freer got hot and made many points. At the end of the game the score stood Z4-2. Sundance won over Newcastle 29-3. One of the best games of the tournament was held when the Bisons met the Bulldogs and the Bulldogs chewed the Bisons for 14 points and the score ended 14-9. Gillette and Newcastle had each won one game from the other iuring the season and the rivalry was keen. Gillette took them into :amp by a score of 10-6. The Yell Leaders also chose a costume that very becomingly set oil their appearance as Yell Leaders. 'lihe costume was white sailor trousers, a white blouse, a sailor hat, and a purple and gold sweater. As both ol' these girls were Seniors, let us hope that next year Campbell County lligh School will be able to select two others that were as ellicient at the business as these two were. Also, we wish Mr. llenning success with his successors next year. X .J l lik f Lef- -' --iv , fe J-' ' ' L Hfffwffi' :fi 1:4 -- ' JJ-1
