' vo ::::.X5- ' l ff '4' 1 9 2 s C A M E L Season's ' Hi-Lites Our. hrst game of the season was with Lead, South Dakota. We were in for a hard old tussle before the whistle ever blew, because Lead was out to get revenge for their I3 to 6 defeat of the year before. This was the Hrst game for most of our team and they began re- ceiving their experience by ga 32 to Z defeat. While in Lead we were shown shrough the gold mine. This was very interesting, but things grew serious when Christy and Freer started carrying off gold bricks. Luckily they 'were too heavy and they had to drop them before the guards got onto what they were doing. Our next game was with Buffalo. This game was somewhat closer than the Lead game and our boys showed some real football. But the more experienced Buffalo team was too much for us and we went down to the tune of 20 to 12. Campbell got into his first game of the season, and scored our two touchdowns by snaring long passes from Christy. The next week we went to Sundance to take the Bulldogs into camp. But here we received the season's surprise at about the rate of I8 to 0. Sundance had a rangy team and their backs took such long steps that we had difficulty in keeping up with them, hence their three touchdowns. And since we couldn't outrun them ourselves, we couldn't score. So there you are! Not satished with the game at Sundance, the Bulldogs wanted to invade our own camp and carry off the bacon. They did! But this time we succeeded in scoring on them. The final score was 25 to 7, Christy scoring on a long pass from Freer. He then kicked goal. The game was rather slow and uninteresting and our boys couldn't seem to get going. At the end of the hrst half the score was I3 to 7 and we thought that we were going to get revenge for our defeat at Sundance. But the second half was not very old before Sundance had three more touchdowns to its credit. Too much Sundance, that's al . Then came Sheridan, outweighing us Hfteen pounds to the man, and confident of having a good practice game with our lowly Camels. They got more than they bargained for, for they bumped. into a fight- ing, slashing, plunging Gillette outht that played them off their feet in the Hrst quarter. We had possession of the ball nearly the whole quarter, and the score stood 0 to 0 at the end of that period. In the second quarter, however, weight began to tell and Sheridan started scoring. Our boys did not give up, however, and just before the period ended, a long pass to Campbell took the ball to our tive yard line just as the half ended. Though the score continued to roll up against them, the Camels never stopped hghting and when it was all over, Sheridan knew it had been in a game of football. Page Tb tv ne 0 J if fi.
