The 1966 football season was a great season for the Cameron Colts. Under the superb coach- ing of Mr. Charlie Rucker, the Colts were winners of the West- ern 4C Conference. Starting the season with a 7-6 victory over Cross, the Colts went on to defeat Norway by a thrilling score of 14-13. In the next game they were defeated by Bluffton, but regained their strength to whip the St. Angela Saints 19-0. The following week the Colts were held to a 6-6 tte by the Branchville Yellow Jackets. A Football ballet! Catch me if you can! The supposedly strongest con- ference opponent, the Edisto Blue Devils, were defeated 7-0. David Zeigler intercepted a pass and ran twenty-two yards for a touchdown. The Colts were defeated by the defending Class C State Champions, but the Colts stomped Hardecville 45-19 in the Homecoming game. The game against Bowman was another victory for the Colts.

+??+ ? Sony shoes! The final scheduled game against Springfield was an excit- ing game for the spectators. Dur- ing the last twenty seconds of the game, Wendel Scott passed the football to Hayne Haigler in the end zone. With this victory, the mighty Colts were able to win the Western 4C Conference. Although they were defeated by Heath Springs in the play-off, the team should be commended for their fine performance through- out the season. MIDGETS
