Council Has Many Projects The purposes of the Student Council are to encourage democracy, develop leadership, promote citizenship, and establish a spirit of cooperation between the students and faculty. However, we are fortunate in the fact that at Cameron problems between students and faculty are non-existent. The Council is responsible for holding elections in the spring, Homecoming in the fall, a Christmas dance, and this year a mock Presidential election. All these were successful due to the team work of the students. With this type of team work, the Student Council was able to accomplish its goal of cooperation in student activities. In the mock election students and faculty almost unani- mously supported Goldwater. 17
