An open house is where sTudenTs' parenTs geT losT Trying To Hnd Their kids' classes and geT soaked from The rain. When They found The classes, They were privileged To hear The Teachers deliver a much re- peaTed speech. The parenTs Then wenT home boTh educaT- ed and weT. Everybody has heard of The library, buT no one was sure iT exisTed, because sTudenTs were noT allowed in during SepTem- ber. Classes were held in The li- brary, while The consTrucTion people iinished The new science building. Even Though no one could see The career cenTer, iT was There behind The doors of The missing library. They had jobs ThaT ranged from babysiTTers To hearT surgeons, unforTunaTely no one knew iT. Or if people Q- Edie Lundeen, Bohdy Hedgecock and Mike MarTin pause To enjoy The lasT of The warm Sep Tember weafher. Homework sTarTed early as Jerry Gomez, Barbara Geaham and Pafricia lslas learn To use Their new TexTbooks. Wy . liked being in a spoTlighT and making a fool of Themselves in fronT of Thousands of people, Then They musT have been in lvlasaue and Gavel. They had TryouTs for The Fool , a play by Neal Simon. The drama people kepT The school in sTiTches wiTh Their plays. Oh yes - The library was Hnally found by a losT sTu- denT Towards The end of The monTh. While The band was pracTicing Wednesday morning inspecTion was going on for JIPO TC. All This pre-dawn excife- menT ended as school began. EvenTually The clubs were orga- nized, and included Ski Club wiTh ouTings To The snow and slopes. The ice SkaTing Club pracTiced aT Tower Plaza. Then There was The oufspoken DebaTe Team and The Chess Club, Though aui- eTer, were jusT as skillfull. BoTh goT Their respecfive poinTs across! There goes The bird followed by a badmiTTon player aTTemp T- ing To hiT iT as They pracTiced for Two hours afTer school, also sharing The gym was The spiking volleyball players. lf people Travelled To The BllTmore They musT have been wiTh The swin- gin' golf Teams. Running away from The school was The cross counTry Team seTTing a new re- cord for arriving aT 7-4 4 l7rsT. The sporT specTrum would noT be complefe wiThouT fooTball. The rough, Tough players Tack- led each oTher afTer school To geT ready for The fooTball sea- son. Chicken pox caughT Kevin Minielield before The ST. Mary's game. The Team sTill gave iT Their besT efforT even if They losT. BuT beTTer sTill, The HrsT Two games of The season They gave up less Than 400 yards To The opponenTs, proving The Spar- Tans are sTill The besT. LeT's noT end SepTember on a sour noTe, we had rip roarin' fun aT The assembly and as The leaves changed Their colors ev- eryone slipped inTo The school beaT.
