third place in a close race at the Penn Relays on April 28. GEORGE SCHOOL MEET Trenton High captured the eighth an- nual George School invitation track and field meet on Flay 6 for the third straight year. Camden High was a close second. Yvilliam Steward, Charles Hopke, and lack Gould took first place in the 100-yard dash, high jump, and the javelin throw. Others who figured in the playoff for Cam- den were Ben Yvalters, Tony Vaitis, Harry Luessen, Sam Platt, and Bill Leone. The totals for the 'fbig four were: Trenton, 29, Camden, 28, George School, 26, and Atlantic City, 21. CA MDEN SECOND YVoodbury High swept into first place with 52 points in a triangular meet at her field on May 10. Camden High was second with 47 counters, and Audubon scored 25. Both Woodbury and Camden won six events and tied in two others. Purple and Gold's Tony Vaitis won the discus and shot put. Sam Platt hit the tape first in the half-mile. Harry Luessen captured the mile run, Jack Gould snared the javelin throw, and Charles Hopke tied with Keck of Audubon, in 120 high hurdles, to shine for the Castle on the Hill. The mile relay, also was won by Camden. The quartet consisted of Luessen, Schoelkopf, Platt, and Glenick. .. -uma . l 'I TRACK TEAM THE SUBURBAN MEET Collingswood High successfully defended its championship at the Robert Shields Blemorial in the annual Suburban track and field meet on Play 15. Camden High tied for third place with Yvoodrow Yvilson. Sam Platt, Camden's only first, registered a 2:5.6 half-mile that was slightly more than two seconds over the record set by Harold Raysor of Haddon Heights, in 1928. Harry Luessen, Ioseph Olenick, Iack Gould, and Bill Leone scored in the pay dirt. At the end of the match, the score read 3 to 2 in Camden's favor. WILSON BLANKED OUT On May 1, the Camden High netmen swamped the Presidents who hail from across the creek. Camden High won every match in straight sets. The singles were won by Martin Sussman, Harry Taylor, Richard Lang, and Edward Manning. The Bloor brothers, Ioseph and Vtlilliam, walked off with the doubles match.
