BASEBALL PICTURE Through the courtesy of Airs. Kobus, president of the Board ot' Education, a baseball picture was shown in the Camden High School auditorium. YVednesday, April 26. This picture related the his- tory of baseball from its beginning to its present status. OPEN HOUSE An Open House and Guidance Conference was conducted at Camden Senior High School Tuesday night, April 25, from 7:50 to 10 P. AI. forthe purpose of acquainting parents of the student body with in- formation concerning colleges, vocations, and pro- fessions open to the average high school graduate. Horace Billings, ofthe R. C. A. Manufacturing Company, gave a brief lecture on How to Secure and Hold a lob. Francis Lybarger, ofthe Buck- nell University, talked about 'tkvhat the University Has to Offer, and F. I. Sheeder spoke on YVhat the Liberal Arts College Offers. Following the general session, guests visited the conference rooms where twenty-three speakers, rep- resenting as many colleges, professions, and voca- tions, answered questions and discussed individual problems. Yvork of the students was on exhibit, and the parents met the teachers in the various departmental rooms. WALT WHI'1MAN'S HOUSE On XVednesday, May 3, the students in the Eng- lish classes of Mrs. Lelia XViggins and lVIiss Margaret Reynolds were permitted to be excused to visit YValt YVhitman's House. The caretaker gave a short talk to two audiences of approximately sixty students about Xvalt Yvhit- man's life, his house, his interests, and his peculiari- ties. Bliss AIargaret Reynolds, Mrs. Lelia YViggins, Bliss Evalina lwattson, and AIiss Emelyn Trine ac- companied the visitors. SECOND OVERTURE Second Overture. by Aiaxwell Anderson, the Cultural Olympics' play, under the able direction of iVIiss Ethel G. Lord, was presented in the upper as- sembly AIay 2. Sol Xveinberg portrayed very skill- fully Bishop Andre, the part originally planned for Vincent iwallet. Alallet, however, resumed his character on Thursday evening when this play com- peted successfully with those of XVoodbury High School and the Hobby League of Philadelphia. The cast consisted ot' the following. BIartin Alar- golit, 5Iorris Greenberg, Betty Zeidman, Norma Keats, Fred Goldstein, David Pinsky, Vincent Nlal- let, Sol Yveinberg, Norman Sherman, Milton XVeiner, Arthur Fichter, Frank NVolfson. and Harold Leiter. The production was given at the University of Pennsylvania on AIay 15 in competition with tive other high schools, and was chosen by the judges for an Award of AIerit, which was presented lVIa.v 20 in Irvine Auditorium. RECORD WINS HONORABLE MENTION AIay 15, Rodman Hart, subscription manager, Bertram Ruttenberg, editor-in-chiefg and Ianet Leach, advertising manager, accompanied by their advisers, set out for the annual press conference at Lehigh University in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. The afternoon was well occupied with round table discussions at one of which our editor spoke con- cerning staff organization and procedure. At the closing meeting as everyone awaited the an- nouncement ot their school's award, the words Class A, honorable mention, goes to Camden High School rang out across the auditorium. SENIORS.
