enod Assembly. Gvnvwxsrncs is. . . our skin and style Although gymnastics is not a team sport, there was a lot a team feeling and mutual support given by team members to each other. According to Coach Octavia Taylor, gymnastics is an individual sport with gymnasts competing against themselves, to develop and perfect new and more com- plicated routines. A sense of balance and poise along with some origi- nality and dedication is what makes a gymnast a top notch competitor, the coach noted. The seemingly effortless back flips, handstands, and straddle vaults are the re- sults of hours of grueling practice when every muscle is toned and developed. CHS was fortunate this year to have as returning team members Cynthia Sanders, Donna Bateman, Ann Landers, Meshell Tay- lor and Theresa Wilson, who added depth to the team.
