DAILY GRI ND !Problems decreose os the CJQlJlS end Once again, in late Au- gust it was time to start racing against the clock- shower, hair, clothes, breakfast and mad dash for the few remaining parking spots-the daily school grind began again. As students waded through tests, lectures and note-taking, lunch ap- proached and they were faced with a choice of either brown-bagging it or risking life and stomache lining to choke, down the cafeteria's mystery meat with secret sauce. Those students who were fast enough eating lunch es- tablished a routine of stand- ing in the locker area ming- ling with people, going out- side and mingling with neqrs! people, or going to the bathroom and mingling with people. Starvation ran a race wih with nervous breakdowns as students sat, stomachs growling and eyes glued to the clock, trying to concen- trate on the sixth period lecture. At last the bell-almost home! Camden high school's day ended with a race to the parking lot and the car stereo. Friends honked and wav- ed as they passed each other on their way home from their hard day at Cam- den high school. joe Neal is chowing down with obvious de- light, his gourmet meal in the cafeteria. getting ready for oraduaiion .... As seniors drew closer to graduation, most anxiously awaited the time when they would venture out on their own. It was getting time to leave the underclassmen, dances, football games, and report card and step out into the adult world as a new man or woman. C.H.S. seniors were pre- pared for graduation. Many participated in a Senior countdown during the lunch periods each day. College visitation was also a part of graduation Gordon Hale measures Johnnie Haynie QC, and gown. preparation. Seniors would take approved day off from school and visit the college of his choice. Ordering announce- ments and caps and gowns was also a part of getting ready for that big day. In that purchase they also bought Class Keys, Memory Books, and Thank You Notes. One of the most irnpor- tant necessities for gradu- ation was making the grade. Many seniors were not straight A students. And some may have to at- tend summer classes to get their other credits. One senior in particular stated I thought my senior year was going to be easy, but I see I had to work hard at my classes and participate in more activities. Another state, I think this year was the best ever. No doubt about itg the Class of 'K83 made Cam- den Senior High School what it is today and we are proud to say We were tempted to achieve and we made it.
