We have tried to include all of our activities, both scholastic and otherwise, as it is our aim to show the people of the community exactly what transpires at the Camden-Frontier School. Aside from introducing you to the yearbook, this page is a thank you to our Annual Advisor, Mr. Hal D. Vaughn. We, as a class, have appreciated his efforts in directing both our Junior and Senior I Class Plays, When a deadline was coming and the Annual Staff became distraught, Mr. Vaughn always had an answer to our problem, He encouraged us over the difficult places and was quickto congrat- ulate ns when a job was well done, We hope this, in a small way, expresses our gratitude for a job well done. One of the duties of the office practice class is the publication of the school year- book, THE REDSKIN, This year the persons chosen to head the yearbook staff were Cherie Salisbury as Editor-in-Chief and Sharon Frank serving as Business Manager, A suc- cessful yearbook takes the reader on an im- aginary joumey through the classes, extra- curricular activities and rooms of the school. While on this joumey, the staff introduces the reader to the students, teachers, admin- istration and the many other people who con- tribute to the successful operation of our school. In the pages that have preceded and the pages that follow, we, the staff, have attempted to record the activities and the people who made them, We hope you fi.nd many happy memories of Camden-Frontier School and the year 1957-58. 4711 Memoriam NORMAN D, COLE The Annual Staff of the 1957-58 Redskin wishes to take this opportunity to express our sincere sympathy at the un- timely passing of our chief custodian, Norman D. Q ,ss Superintendent? ,Message The Camden-Frontier School, withthe aid and cooperation of its students, teachers, and personnel, has been progressing in promotinga better educational program, We have strength- ened the Science and Math departments each year and stu- dents are showing greater interest in the offerings of these courses. Improvements are not only evident in these fields, but also in all other departments. As students, your interest in leaming to prepare yourselves in skills and knowledge for future choice of occupations enables us to continue to keep our program on a high plane, and still not lose sight of the social activities of the school which are an integral part of your development as future citizens for our nation. The development of a strong, active student council is indicative of your ability to help to govern and develop good standards for this citizenship, The administration is pleased with the continued improvement of the schoo1's yearbook and wishes the present staff a successful year with an improved annual, Sincerely, Mr, Miller Superintendent of School Princjval s Massage On behalf of the Camden-Frontier School, I wishto acknowledge and thank the Senior Class, the annual staff, and recognize the sponsor, Mr. Hal Vaughn, for the cooperative effort and sincerity that was necessary for making the 1958 Redskin a success. On the eve of the printing of this book, our interest in education is at an all time high with the present national demand for higher education, since our national defense depends upon atomic power and increased knowledge of space and the inevitable space age in the future. Let us only hope that our interest in education will always stay at this level, To this year's graduating class I wish to extend congratulations and wish that each and every member has a successful and gratifying future. Also thru the media of this annual, that you seniors in years to come, can look back and relive the good times and again see the faces of your classmates, friends and teachers as was lived in 1958, at your Alma Mater, Camden-Frontier High. What coach wouldn't be, for it is naturally a coach's dream to have the caliber of boys I have had to work with this past season, Everyone was great in his own right, from our four graduating seniors down to the boys that didn't receive a letter and still had the determination to stay out for the sport. I believe that determination was shown at the Albion Invitational Meet when you boys came through with a runner-up trophy and had nearly half of the team sick with the flu. Again it was shown in the State Meet when you came through and had our probable number one runner running with an injury to his side. You never won big in any of your six victories and one defeat, but you won well and you lost even better. All my regards to the greatest team that I have ever had the privilege to coach. I was taking a trip to Mars for my vacation. While on the Spaceplane, I saw one of my old schoolmates, MARVIN SHULL, who is the friendly undertaker of the great metropolis, Frontier. We talked about the good times the class of '58 had during school, We thought the Space- plane, we were riding in, had increased knowledge and travel to a great extent. This contribution to the universe was made by the well known scientist of the day, DAVID STRAWE, Marvin told me about the many well known people from our class. RICHARD GARDNER married Kruschev's daughter, and was now the head of the Russian Empire. ARLETTA PETERS was the President of the United States. However, she was going to be impeached because she has launched too many mutniks, DOROTHY PEARCE was now Secretary to the President of Dupont Corporation, who happened to be JERRY LAPHAM, We tumed on the video and much to our surprise we saw the comedian who took Red Skelton's place, the guy with a million laughs, JOHN CARPENTER, During the same program the famous quarterback, ROMAN BONES EZHAMBERLAIN KRELMONDJ demonstrated why everyone should eat his Wheaties. I understood from Marvin that BILL SCHMIDT and GLEN BROWN surely needed them in their positions as construction engineers. We were violently interrupted when BILL STROUSE came tumbling down the aisle and broke his neck, however, SHARON FRANK came to the rescue, since she is the Head Nurse at the Frank Memorial Hospital at Montgomery. By the way, Bill Strouse and ROYAL VAN AKEN are still working on a short course at Michigan State University. Wait a minute, the old Classic, Romeo and Juliet, is coming on the set. It is starring the famous acting team of SALISBURY Q CHERIE J and CLARK UACK J. JANET GRIMM is in the movie business, too, She has a mule farm, and is raising actors for the part she once played in the movie, Legend of the Lost, Just then I rolled over which must have mixed things up. I saw MARY ANN Q Curth J still down by the sea side sifting sand, She didn't know there was a hole in her box. SHARON SMITH makes button holes for a zipper company, which keeps her quite busy, The Ewers Brothers, RONALD and KENNETH, have made their fortunes building skyhooks which are quite handy these days, RANDALL HELLER bankrupted the quiz program that gave away Cadillacs. He still has some of them stored away as toys for his grandchildren. MARY VINCENT raises chocolate covered grasshoppers for Mike Toods' grandson, who is on a very select diet, Somehow I'm back in the spaceplane again and VIRGINIA WILSON is announcing our arrival in the city. She is the spaceline hostess for TUA, She told us to fasten our seat belts as it was time to land. Outside we saw the pilot and the co-pilot who looked quite familiar. They were JAMES SEELY and LARRY VAN AKEN, Going through the city we stopped at MARIAN GARY S Hilltop Mansion. She told us that RUTH BUEHRER and CAROLYN FOUTS published one of the city's newspapers called Did You Hear About : IANICE MANN is modeling for Modern Girly and DONNA GARY and DIXIE HAYES both have happy families. They celebrated their 40th wedding anniversaries last week. We told Marian we had planned to stop at the opera. She said she would have BILL KAST drive us downtown. Bill is employed as her chauffeur. One of the ships cars wasn't working, but PRYOR BEARD, who is the head mechanic at the Grand Central Space Station, had it repaired in no time, CAROLYN SALISBURY was the star of the opera and gave a very good performance, Afterwards we went to Shorty's Place, owned by JERRY LONG and JERRY HIGLEY, for a bite to eat, You know, the eat and run joint of the city. Q After you eat, you have to run.J PROPHECY Qcontinuedj DUANE HEADLY has a building across the street where he spends most of his time counting his money. GEORGE LANGE, as his head engineer, runs the cable cars which carry his money to and from the underground vault. After eating, we found a motel outside the city which was called, Sleep While You Wait, owned by DALE JAGGER, Dale told us MARTHA FORD had inherited the car industry from her famous ancestor, Henry, but the business had gone to the dogs, Who needs cars? In the restaurant window are two posters. One portrayed the wrestling champion of the world, GORDON DA VIS, the other, LINDA CARTER announcing she was going to swim all the channels on Mars. Dale asked us if we remembered our class advisors, MRS. HERSHA and MR, HARPER. He told us Mrs. I-lersha was known as Grandma Moses II for she spent most of her time painting, Qpainting the town red that is lg while Mr. Harper is the retired fatrnan from the Vanguard Circus. This news was enough to wake anyone from his sleep. This dream left me with the idea of a wonderful trip in the near future to visit with my classmates wherever they might be. To each in his walk of life I wish success, always keeping in mind Climb though the rocks be rugged. Sincerely, Roger Richardson Glass LW!! We, the class of 1958, of Camden-Frontier High School, being of unsound minds and wom out bodies, the result of our four long years of unceasing turmoil, are about to depart from this school life. It is the last wish that the great store of possessions, good or otherwise, which has been accumulated at great cost and with extreme pain and suffering should be left to those less fortunate individuals doomed to suffer more years of mental toil within these walls, We, there- fore, bequeath our ability to get into trouble with the teachers and the other following items, which comprise all that we have gained through the four years, to our underclassmen. They do not tell about the picture editor finding out that two pictures are missingg about the editor, running around trying to get everyone to do his jobg about the telephone calls, letters, and telegrams sent out in an effort to meet the publication deadline, The yearbook is not produced by just one person, but by many people working to- gether toward a common goal, the outcome of which is the 1958 REDSKIN, We, the Senior Class, wish to thank everyone who has made this REDSKIN the book that it is.
