Thirteen Cavaliers Bid Adieu Thirteen gridders will never wear the blue and gold again. Leading the list of graduates are co-captains jeff -jenkins and Greg Sealey. jeff was a starting tackle for two years be- fore moving to fullback. He earned raves from opposing coaches at both positions. Greg, an all S.M.A.C. de- fensive back, was known for all his hard tackling and leadership quali- ties. Quarterback Gary Mishou did an outstanding job directing the club and throwing the football. The Lit- tle General gave Cavalier fans plen- ty to cheer about when he put the ball in the air. Halfback Dean Dent returned from an injury that ruined his junior year. He was a threat on punt and kick-off returns and played well de- fensively. Keith Williams led the Cavalier defense from the Monster posi- tion. Williams was one of the tough- est players on the team and rarely suffered an injury. One of the team's leading tacklers was linebacker john Ireland. He played a rugged brand of football from the first whistle until the last. Raymond Hall led. all receivers and blocked well from his right end position. The all-around athlete had quite a season snaring the pigskin. Kicker-end jerry Kurek gave the Cavaliers a powerful kicking game. He also used his ability to snag sev- eral important passes during the year. Defensive ends Charles Bennett and Kevin O'Connor boxed in the opposition's sweeps and threw quar- terbacks for long losses as the cam- paign rolled along. Kim Edwards played rugged de- fense and gutty offense from his tackle and center slots. The Animal provided plenty of trouble for op- posing linemen. Guard Frank Abner hustled his heart out trying to free Cavalier run- ners. The Randle Cliff flash was as good a guard as found in the con- ference. Tackle Joel Russell played hard- nosed, heads-up defense and blocked well on offense. The iron- man played injured much of the cam- paign. Kurek booms another one. Edwards slams a warrior.
