Sophomore Class Stand In the end you'll still be you One that's done all the things you've set out to do. Stand There's a cross for you to bear Things to go through if you're going anywhere . . . CLASS OFFICERS Sealed-Ann Angil-President Debra Childs-Vice President Lavenia Locks-'Secretary Mary Lou Pardoe-Treasurer They now know which is Building A and which is Building B. They've become accustomed to the ten minute bell and no longer jump up to leave class when it rings. They realize Mr. Bergin, Mr. Fletcher and Mr. Tidwell are not quite as terrible as they seem. Familiarity has made them bold enough to fight their way into the cafe- torium against the tide of seniors streaming out. They are in their second year of high school. Having only half a day at the Annex, many sophomores have become involved in school functions. Football, baseball, basketball, band, Student Council and other clubs can boast sophomore members. They crowd in Mr. Proffitt and Mr. jefferson's Driver Ed classes in preparation for the most important event in a sophomores life-taking the test for a license. Once ob- tained, the license holds its own cloak of status. Dates, dances and night games follow. They struggle with onomatopoeia, Shakespeare and biology experiments, yet they some- how remain cheerful. They can be heard laughing about the mistakes they see the fresh- men make. But why shouldn't they? They did the same things last year.
