HAROLD E. STRYCKER A familiar person to be seen in the office this year was Mr. Strycker, our new vice- principal. As former head of the commercial department and in his twelveth year at Calumet, Mr . Strycker was by no means a new face on the school scene. Those who had occasion to come in con- tact with him in this new capacity found him more than just an administrator; we are sure that he has also become an invaluable additon to the administrative staff. . He attended Manchester College for his A.B. degree and Indiana University for his M.S. degree in education. WAYNE E. SWIHART We, the Class of 57 are very proud to say that Mr. Swihart entered this high school as head of our faculty the same year we entered as Freshmen. As these four years have passed swiftly by, he has guided us through many decisions main- taining a firm but wise attitude. We wish to express our appreciation for all his help, and hope that our class has added to the pleasant memories of his last four years at Calumet. Mr. Swihart attended Manchester College for his A.B. degree, Ashland College and and Ohio State University for a M.A. degree, and is currently attending Indiana University for his Doctorate in education. Previously he has taught in Ohio, Delphi, Indiana and our own Ross School. On No- vember 19, 1956 he was appointed Acting Superintendent of the Metropolitan School District.
