The members of +he winning +eam included Tom Page, Jerry Clair, George Fouls, George Boyadiieff, Jesse Madrigal, Bob Walker, Bo lchiers, Wall' Barrholf, Dave Case, Bill Yee, Jim Schmidf, and Fred Radlefinger. Five members of 'l'he A ieam fraveled 'lo Davis on April 2ls1' +o compeie in 'rhe annual Davis Track Meer. The 'ieam also compefed in'o1'her meeis 'ihroughoui' The year. The B 'leam was sparsely manned. The C leam en- joyed a good season and wiih rhe experience gained, ihe members will make nexi year's A and B reams sfronger. Girls' sporls occupy an imporlanl place in lhe life ol CHS, and during lhe year lhe girls of CHS, all ol whom are members of GAA, parlicipaled in various sporl aclivilies. Speedball led off lhe season, bul because lhis sporl was new lo lhe girls, no all-slar or inler-class games were played. Baslrelball was nexl and lhe bi m was lhe cenler of - 9 9Y allraclion during noon hour lor CHS girls who were en- gaged in inler-class baslzelball games. Soon aflerwards came volleyball, which proved lo be lhe mosl popular sporl ol lhe year. Over len games were played belween selecled leams ol girls and lhe lacully, and many boys parlicipaled also. The lirsl days of spring found lhe lield lilled again wilh girls, warming up for lhe forlh-coming sollball lourna- menls. During lhe winler monlhs various indoor sporls, includ- ing ping-pong and badminlon, were played, and many of lhe girls played lennis. Towards lhe end ol lhe school year lhirly-five members wenl lo Sl. Helena, where lhe combined leams wilh Sl. Helena's GAA members. These leams compeled in many sporls, including lumbling and lrack.
