first year drama this year a drama program was instituted at csb. the pro- ductions were sponsored by the fine arts department and the esb playersi club. three major productions, directed by richard bell, lecturer in fine arts, were presented in the lecture building. the above pictures show the theatres winter production of george bernard shawis comedy warms and the man in rehearsal. in this play, Shaw satirizes romantic ideals both amorous and military. the play was presented to the public march 1-4. an added attraction of the play is that it was done in the round with the audience seated on all four sides. since the drama program does not yet have a theatre for their productions, a modular set was designed that could be easily erected and dismantled with costumes, properties and make-up suggesting a world of toy soldiers. the cast included elizabeth moore, soonet thronburgh, john e. baird, sally wilson, rick kornbau, randy cross and randy cash in november of 1971, csbis first major production, ugo bettits ttcrime 0n goat islandfi was performed. the play dealt with the effects of isolation and guilt on three lonely women and a man who became their victim. the cast in- cluded mary herndon-bell. jean finley, sonnet thornburgh, john e. baird and randy cross.
the dance: bob bob, twist, funky penguin, stomp, swim, mash potatoe, jerk, and any other contortion that writhes the body. every so often, a club or organization at CSB will sponser a dance in order to raise funds for their activities. The above pictures were taken at the C88 annual club dance, llheadman crossll furnishing the evenings entertainment. Usually, the original idea of a C88 dance, to make money, fails. With this reputation, another one of the old college standards may just go the way of all flesh. Goodbye dance, hello - - -
