FOOTBALL
The 1947 football season was fairly successful for the CSD gridders
The Foothills came from three stiaight defeats to smear all opposition

Though thew play ed superblx in the tint three games the Foothills
lacked the scorlng punch that makes a winning team Despite all their
hard luck the Foothills held their opponents to respectable scores and
It can be said that the 1944 squad u ts one of the strongest teams to

TRACK
As the Annual goes to press the Foothllls are preparmg themselves
to undergo one of the toughest schedules 1n the hlstory of the school
In order to retam their prestlge the Foothllls must hurdle such tough
opponents as Berkeley Albany St Josephs of Alameda and Martmez
and p1t thelr strength 3ga1IlSt the cream of the East Bay Countles Athletlc
League at the league meet at Brentwood Should the Foothllls take the
league crown they w1ll enter the Northern Callfornla mvltatlonal meet
at the Unlverslty of Cahfornla
Whether the Foothxlls can survlve thlS rugged test rests chlefly on the
capabllltles of the team Already coach Byouk s charges haxe shown slgns
Thls year the Foothllls are fieldmg a rather large squad compared
to the smaller teams of the past Hard practlce has moulded lnto the
team confidence and aggresslveness Celerlty IS thelr key note and thev
wlll be out to prove thelr upremacy on the cmders
Any honors the boys achleve thls year probably w1ll be as polnt getters
rather than as record breakers for the track records set by thelr fore

By the tlme you read thls the Foothllls record wlll be 1n the book
