cation This year, the Cal ban Yearbook Staff has dedicated our book to two outstand- ing individuals within the school, Mr. Nicholas Ordon, and Mrs. Edwina Trimmer. Mr. Ordon, alias Dr. NG, has been the principal of Calhan Middle School for the past decade and a half. His unique sense of humor gives a person little notion of what's going on in his head, but his sincerity and his loving concern for his staff and students is always transmitted. One thing Mr. Ordon says he will always remember is the time he was teach- ing a class several years ago: I look- ed out of the corner of my eye and there was this kid blowing his nose on his turtleneck! Before coming to Calhan, Dr. No served 19 years in the Air force attaining the rank of colonel. In addition, he has served time in the Army, Navy, Marines, and Coast Guard. Mr. Ordon leaves a word of advice to students, teachers, and adminis- trators: Take initiative; be patient; and persevere. Goodbye Mr. Ordon, and thank you! Mrs. Edwina Trimmer, affectionately known as Eddie , has been a special education teacher at Calhan from 1981- 1985. She has always been devoted to teaching handicapped children as well as serving the school and community in numerous ways. Eddies gentleness, under- standing, and concern for all students reflects her genuine love of people in general. Eddie says I love the under- dog child. Everyone can make it if given the chance. Mrs. Trimmer's accomplishments before joining Calhan's staff are too numerous to list here, but she is an author, inventor, an.' has held educational therapy positions all around the country. She has twice been a nominee for na- tional teacher of the year, and those of us who know Eddie can agree that a teacher of this guality and spirit will be sorely missed at Calhan. 2
