standards of conduct and achievement. It is with heavy farewell—and God bless you. TO THE SENIORS: I offer my love and respect and my most sincere wish that life for each of you will be a fine and challenging experience. I am sure that as the years move on, you will find this book a source of Treasured Memories. Perhaps the class of 67 is just a bit of a special class for me, for with this class many of my dreams for Calhan High are solidly established and beginning to come true. I want to thank each of you for your own individual and special contributions toward this achievement. You have done so much to honor our school and to create new and better heart that I salute you--and say TO THOSE OF US WHO REMAIN BEHIND, we will meet the challenges of the future, and in meeting them grow into places left vacant by those who are departing. Let us resolve, here and now that, together, we will make the future even brighter than the present. May this book hold in trust for each of you fond memories of the life that you have lived in Calhan School, for such is the purpose of the BULLDOG. Donald E. Wright, Superintendent. BOARD OF EDUCATION Who with their untiring efforts help to make our school THE BEST Joe Maul, Dorothy Ami Pieper, Richard Lemesany, Albert Kobilan, Fred Vorenberg

STUDENT COUNCIL L. to R. Karen Bearfoot, Debbie Kanuch, Rick Wellington, Connie Eurich, Kent Greenwood, Alan Balsick, Rick Freeman, Karen Dungan, George Fosha, Joan Pieper, Mr. Wright, Gary Guthrie, Sec. Bonnie Vorenberg, Pres. KitMarley, Vice Pres. Ivan DeWitt, Rep. Terry Nelson, Ina Miller During this school year, the Student Council has undertaken several worthwhile proj- ects. One of the most significant of these projects was the moving of the old bell from the site of the old Union High School building to the front of our present building. Dur- ing an assembly, this bell was set. It is kept locked, except on special occasions, it is unlocked and rung. The student council sponsored the Homecoming Dance and the Sweetheart Ball. These were occasions which will long be remembered by the students and patrons of the Calhan School. The Student Council was responsible for the Christmas treat, and for the film. Johnny Shilo, at the all school Christmas Party. At present, the Student Council and their sponsor, Mr. Wright, are working hard on a Handbook for the students of Calhan School.
