Congratulations to the Class of 1960. May your school attitude, educational endeavors and social accom- plishments during your school years, be worth-while. We are living in a world of miracles, and because we are living in such a fast moving space epoch, there is ever a new day, a new horizon toward which you young people travel as you make your journey along life's thoroughfare. So, my good young people, if we are to vision tomor- row, let us start with this promise: anything is possihle in the future. We live in an atomic space age. Each of you remember that right here in Calhan is a starting point. You can start from here and go anywhere you want to go. Because we believe, we achieve. Keep believing! Keep achieving! Vision tomorrow as a world of miracles which will come to pass if you have faith, courage, and intelligence to make them real. Our purpose in education is to help the child develope to the fullest extent of his ability. Each child must be considered as an individual and not forced into rigid group classifi- cations. The curriculum should be developed to meet the needs of the child of this commu- nity and yet uphold the standards of the state and nation. Always the welfare of the child should be the important factor—not the teacher, the school, nor the curriculum. With this in mind, steady improvement in the standards, curriculum, and teachers within the school will be striven for.
